1st and 5th in Beatport’s Top 100 Tech House tracks is how this EP has faired so far, and you wouldn’t expect anything less from the team over at Visionquest and, of course, Life & Death themselves. Life & Death is the collective of the two already prominent groups Tale of Us and Thugfucker. As a collective they already made waves with their remix of  Pillowtalk‘s ‘Soft‘ so high hopes were expected of a solo release. And they have duly delivered with their release ‘Step Aside’ on Visionquest (VQ009). The A Side ‘Step Aside (Lightweight)’ is a dark tech song with ominous pads and deep synths that even squeezes in a tinge of acid.

 The B Side ‘Morgana’ has a more jacking feel to it with disco synths that play over the top of a looming bassline.

All in all, another great release from Life & Death.
