GRAND HOTEL w/ PLUMP DJ’s, DETBOI, LOOPS OF FURY AND MORE

28 July 2011 No Comment

This Friday sees the return of Grand Hotel! this months installment is at the Nest, Dalston’s highly acclaimed dusky basement party hang out!

Fresh off the back of their critically acclaimed, sample heavy and kick drum-delicious ‘Hump Rock’ release on Grand Hotel, the Plump DJs are back and ready to showcase some more huge underground electronic artists.

With emphasis laid on bass strong, bleep heavy and dance floor friendly selections, the duo are sure to bring the house down with their unique sound.

Joining the Plumps will be the Radio 1 championed rising star, Detboi. After his bassy bedroom productions caught the ear of the likes of Trevor Loveys, Sinden and Annie Mac, Detboi was swiftly signed to Hervé’s Cheap Thrills imprint in 2008. Laying down the seminal heater Curse of the Voodoo Drums in 2010, the artist carved a niche for himself on the dubstep-tinged-electro stage, playing everywhere from fabric to Ibiza’s Eden. To say we’re hyped to see Detboi take control of The Nest’s notorious Martin Audio soundsystem would be a massive understatement.

Brisbane born, London based electro/techno duo, The Loops of Fury, were catapulted to hard electro heaven last year when their pivotal ‘Rack Em’ release. With backing from the likes of Sasha, Hey Today! And Evil Nine, the pair have earned their stripes as producers and selectors and are sure to bring a more industrial sound to the night’s proceedings. Perfect for dark, cavernous basements, The Loops of Fury boys will be joined by the low end, electro house sounds of Submo.

Last but certainly not least are Dalston locals Badbob and Lolak vs. Radar!, the brains behind the boomy Siren Dipity parties, ready and prepared to take you on a journey to the beating heart of the rave. Expect big bass bombs from these fellas!
